February Monthly Goals Report

February Monthly Goals Report

AN INDEED BUSY AND CRAZY FEBRUARY. My blog has been inactive for the whole of February. I guess some of you may have thought that I might have fallen off the planet.

At the beginning of the month, I attended the Research Kamustahan Conference as my task being the Research Focal Person of our school. There, I found out that I could no longer push my plan to conduct an Action Research for two reasons. First was that we were already in the last quarter of the school year and it was not advisable to conduct an action research anymore. Second, I planned to apply for Senior High School by the next school year. I did not feel frustrated at all. I still felt thankful because at least I tried to and I think that was what really mattered.

I also received a news that our application to operate for Senior High School was on hold because of some lacks in the requirements. I was asked to take photos of our Senior High School building and its facilities as proof that we were ready for the Senior High School Program. After a few days since we submitted the lacking requirements, we got visitors from the Division and Regional Office who checked and evaluated our readiness for the Senior High School.  On that day, I was so uncomfortable and I was shocked to discover that rashes were starting to be visible on the different parts of my body. As a result, I was not able to take up my Midterm Examination for my doctoral class on the scheduled date.

Second Week of February

With the help of my colleagues and my classmates, I finally finished the class schedule and loading of teachers for Senior High School. My rashes were completely gone but  the third week was unfavorable for me. It was a week of struggle because of my hoarse voice. On the other hand, I started drafting my detailed lesson plan and my Power Point Presentation for my application for Senior High School.

Third Week of February

I was relieved within that week because I finally completed all my reports for the doctoral class. I also finished reading the novel by Hwang Sok Yong which was the “Ancient Garden.”  Gladly, that I found a perfect time to visit the bank to deposit my savings. My Power Point Presentation and detailed lesson plans were the two things that made me set aside my daily exercise. My daily exercise was something I needed to sacrifice in order to do the things, which I should prioritized first.

Last Week of February

The most awaited day finally arrived. My heart was overflowing with gratitude when I witnessed how everything seems to be aligned with my goal for the success of my application. My colleagues, my family, friends and classmates unselfishly offered what they could to assist me. My boyfriend who have been always busy with his project miraculously woke up very early the day that I would have my interview and demonstration teaching. He sent me a cheer up message that brightened my mood as well. I think that it was a success. I answered all the questions that the panelists threw to me. After that, I was instructed to execute my demonstration teaching to the selected students.

Goal setting is very important especially if you want to achieve a lot of things in life. However, goals need to be smaller and achievable ones than those that are grand and very tedious to accomplish. They pose a challenge to people especially it needs us to think outside of the box. Ticking those goals is one of the best feelings in the world. Isn’t it?

That’s true. I feel alive whenever I realize that I did what I was supposed to do. It also gives me a sense of directions whenever I know what should I be aiming for.
