Reading has been what I love to do and comes with it is my interest to be a writer as well. Sounds big, right? Dreaming is for free after all so why not dream big. With this in my mind, I decided to discipline myself to compose one topic a day. I prefer to type it online rather than write it down in my notebook for I think even I myself cannot understand my penmanship sometimes. I have started with it since last month in www.mylot.com where I have been earning also a decent amount which is enough for me to be able to purchase my own domain. It was like hitting 2 birds with one stone and much more practical than spending my precious time on Facebook.
So, what is the connection of writing to reading? Simple, I cannot write anything if I do not read anything. That was what our professor taught us when we were doing our thesis for our Masters. Thanks to him for repeating that lesson to us every time we meet in the class to discuss the different chapters in our research.
So back to the challenge, “I am going to read!” No excuses! No delays! Since I started working on my blog this August, so I will make sure that I must re-read 5 novels until the end of this year. Quite slow, I guess but reading 5 novels up to the end of the year is what I think doable considering the time I need to give also to my offline jobs.
Why do I want to re-read?
Re-reading is something fun to do. It also reinforces me to know the book more since I don’t usually get a full grasp of the book on first reading aside from the fact that I haven’t bought any new books yet.
Good luck on the challenge! I am going to do my updates weekly.
The following books were all written by my favorite author, Paulo Coelho, whom I dream to meet in person someday.
- The Alchemist
- The Fifth Mountain
- Eleven Minutes
